A SPECIAL PERFORMANCE OF MY NEIGHBOUR TOTORO

Earlier this month we were delighted to be part of the Japanese State visit at the Young V&A in Bethnal Green. The My Neighbour Totoro company came together once again and had the honour of performing the ‘Soot Sprite song’ for Their Majesties The Emperor and Empress of Japan.

Mei Mac (Mei) and Ami Okumura Jones (Satsuki) also got to meet Their Majesties alongside local schoolchildren, who presented a posy to The Empress. There were over 200 young people there on the day who were delighted to meet some of the puppets and see this special performance.

There is a specially commissioned My Neighbour Totoro model box displayed as part of the Young V&A exhibition Japan: Myths to Manga which is on until 8 September.
